Membership Renewals 2020/2021

Given the events of this year, the management committee have decided to extend everyone’s membership for free in 2021. You will not receive a new sticker for your cards, but they will remain valid until the next renewal in December 2021/January 2022.

We have made available a GoFundMe donation site, we would like to ask those that can afford to do so, to make a small donation to Club funds in lieu of the membership fees this year.

Be rest assured the Club is not in any financial difficulty, this is merely a way to help us with the deficit of no membership income this year, and gives you a way to provide continued support for the Club whilst we remain closed.

Please click here for the GoFundMe Site.

Revised Opening Times (17/08/2020)

Effective: 17/08/2020

Hello everyone.

The Committee have been monitoring the usage of the club since we re-opened from the lockdown. There are some clear times that it is not beneficial for us to open, with takings not even covering staff wages.

The Committee have had to make a difficult decision, and therefore from Monday 17th August (inclusive) the club will open as per these revised opening times:

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday: 19:00-23:00
  • Wednesday: 19:00-22:00
  • Thursday: 19:00-22:00
  • Friday: 17:00-23:00
  • Saturday: 11:30-23:00
  • Sunday: 11:30-18:00

Bank Holiday Monday (31st August) the club will be open 11:30-18:00.

We thank you for your continued support, and hope you understand why we’ve had to make this decision. We will continue to monitor the situation and will review as needed.

Please come and visit the Club if you are able, we’d love to see you, we have all necessary Covid measures in place.

Club Re-Opening

Hello Everyone,

I am pleased to announce that the Club will be re-opening from Monday 6th July at 7:00PM.

As you are probably expecting, we have had to make significant changes to the way the Club operates to meet with the current government guidance. We will, as an ongoing process be reviewing this regularly. We have assessed our operating procedures and adjusted them to meet or exceed the requirements.

Please see this link on the Club Website to see full details – we encourage everyone to read this before attending.

Key Points

You should not enter the Club premises if you or any of your household are showing any of the Covid-19 symptoms within the last 14 days. Government advice is to stay at home, order a testing kit, and all members of the household should isolate.

The number one priority is the safety of everyone – every single person has a responsibility to play their part.

Social distancing must be maintained, some tables and chairs/stools have been removed.

Please wash your hands regularly and use the hand sanitisers we have invested in.

No-one under the age of 18 is permitted on the Club premises at this time.

No Dogs (except official guidance dogs) are permitted at this time.

There will be a one-way system operating through the Club. Entry to the club will be via the Access Ramp, the stairs are one-way (down) and exit is via the main door (for those that don’t have a need to use the access ramp). This means that on a toilet visit you’ll need to take your coat if its raining!

On arrival at the club – all members MUST BRING their access cards. Do not use the door buzzer for access – you will be refused. Every member must swipe their card in the reader, regardless of whether someone is holding the door open for you or not. Additionally guests are limited to two per party – they must sign in fully with name, address and telephone number – this MUST be legible.

All members MUST enter their name and telephone number on the daily sign in sheet, next to the visitor book. This is a mandatory requirement for the NHS Track and Trace Service. If you do not consent to supply this information you must leave the premises.

There will be no standing (except for when in the bar queue). On entering the club you should find a table/seating area that is large enough for your party (remember you should be from the same household or ‘social bubble’). The lounge downstairs will be open for additional seating. If there are no available seating areas in the club, then unfortunately you must leave and return at a later time. There is no waiting area for tables inside the building, or on the access ramp.

There is a queuing system for bar access. To minimise contact all members and guests are expect to return empty bottles and glasses to the drop off area on the bar. A number of queuing positions are clearly marked. From the drop off area onwards, please do not move forward until instructed by the bar staff. Please be prepared to wait longer for service at the bar. Please do not abuse the bar staff over this, they are following the procedure they have been instructed.

Every drink will be served in a clean glass. If you are ordering more than two drinks a tray will be provided to avoid the need to return to the bar. Staff will handle glasses at the base wherever possible.

Contactless card payments are strongly preferred and recommended.

There may be some products that are unavailable at the time of opening. Alternative products are available.

The follow services will not be available until further notice:

  • Pool Table
  • Dart Board
  • Gaming Machine
  • Lottery Machine
  • Bingo
  • Live Entertainment
  • Dominoes

The Jukebox will be available via the App only, volumes will be limited.

Sky TV is available on all three televisions, again volumes will be limited.

Revised Opening times (these will be under review and may be updated)
Monday: 19:00–23:00
Tuesday: 19:00–23:00
Wednesday: 19:00–23:00
Thursday: 19:00–23:00
Friday: 17:00–23:30
Saturday: 11:30–23:00
Sunday: 11:30–21:00

Above all – please use common sense, and maintain your distance from others.

There will be increased Committee presence in the Club during the opening hours. They have instruction to operate the Club in-line with the rules and regulations, please follow their advice. Their decision is final on all matters regarding the safe operating of the Club. In the absence of a Committee member, the Bar Staff have the same authority. Please do not abuse the Staff or Committee members, these changes are enforced upon us – we all have to work with them.

Club Re-Opening – Operating Procedure

The Club has conducted a risk assessment against the current Covid-19 Government Guidance. The following rules and guidance are applicable to all Members and Visitors to the Club.

  • The Club will be operating in a reduced capacity and will operate on a one-way system basis (see the adjacent floor plan). This includes visits to the toilet facilities (The stairs are one-way – down), the only permitted exception is the bar staff/committee access to the cellar (staff will ensure its safe).

  • No Dogs (except official guidance dogs) are permitted at this time.
  • All members MUST swipe their access cards on the door reader when entering the club, even if someone you are with holds the door open for you. NO ACCESS CARD – NO ENTRY – DO NOT BUZZ FOR ACCESS AS THE BAR STAFF HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED NOT TO LET YOU IN.
  • All members MUST enter their name and telephone number on the daily sign in sheet, next to the visitor book. This is a mandatory requirement for the NHS Track and Trace Service. If you do not consent to supply this information you must leave the premises.
  • All visitors must individually sign in with Full name, Address and Telephone number in the signing in book, this is both a Club rule and also so we can record your visit as per the government requirements.  The signing in sheets will be removed on a daily basis and secured.
  • Social Distancing must be maintained at all times.
    • Some tables and chairs/stools have been removed.
    • DO NOT MOVE ANY TABLES AND CHAIRS.
    • Additional seating is available in the Lounge downstairs.
    • Please use the supplied hand sanitisers whenever possible.
  • There is no standing anywhere (except at the BAR when ordering and collecting at the designated points).
  • If there is nowhere available to sit and to safely social distance, you must leave the premises, queuing for a seat is not possible. Please come back later. As much as we want members to enjoy the Club, the safety of everyone is the number one priority.
  • Members are expected to return their empty bottles and glasses to the drop-off area, noting the one-way traffic flow and queuing points.
  • Clean Glasses are mandatory with every drink ordered.
  • The Bar Queue works on this basis:
    • Drop off empty glasses at the designated drop off point.
    • If the order point is clear you will be asked to move forward into that position by the bar staff to order your drinks.
    • When advised, move to the pay/collect point and wait.
    • You will be given a tray if your order is more than you can carry in one trip to avoid the need to return to the bar.
    • At this time Contactless payments are strongly preferred. There is no Cashback available. The minimum spend limit has been removed.
    • Be prepared to wait longer than normal. You will be served as soon as possible.
  • The Pool Table, Gaming Machine, Lottery Machine, Dominoes and Dartboard are out of use until further notice. The Jukebox may be used, but by the Mobile Phone App only.

Anyone who does not follow these guidelines or follow the instructions of the Committee/Bar Staff will be asked to leave the premises immediately. Be-aware the Club disciplinary procedure will be followed. These rules are for everyone’s safety including your own.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Updates

Please Note: due to the coronavirus outbreak, the committee have taken the difficult decision to close the club for a temporary period of time to protect members and staff alike.

The club will close on Friday 20th at 23:30 and will remain closed until further notice.

We will be reviewing the situation on a regular basis and updates will be provided on here on the website and on the Facebook page.

The Management Committee would like to re-assure all members that we are keeping a close eye on developments with regards to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

As you are likely aware from the news and government television broadcasts, this is a fast moving situation. We will be following government advise and we will post all updates on both here on the Clubs web site (www.branstonhomeguard.com) and on the Facebook page.

Further updates will follow as the situation develops.

Following on from the success of the wine tasting nights, we are pleased to announce a Gin tasting night. There will be a lot of new Gins and Mixers available in addition to those currently stocked.

Tickets for the tasting event are £3.50, this will allow you to purchase Gin and Mixers all night at the significantly reduced price of £3.50.
